Sliquid Organics Natural is the aloe based lubricant at the centre of Sliquid's Organics range. Organic aloe vera juice is the first ingredient on the label, ahead of purified water, and that is what separates it from a plain water-based formula. Sliquid print "botanically infused" on the bottle, and the botanicals are four organic extracts: flax, hibiscus, green tea and sunflower seed.

Thirteen ingredients, made with organic ingredients. It is water-soluble, so it behaves like a water-based lube in practice. It rinses off with warm water, it is safe with every toy material including silicone, and a few drops of water bring it back if it starts to absorb.

pH 4.1 to 4.4, free from glycerin, parabens, propylene glycol, DEA, PEG and sulphates, with no fragrance, flavour or colour. Vegan, cruelty-free and hypoallergenic. There is a small amount of alcohol in the formula, which is worth knowing if your skin reacts easily.

Works with latex, polyisoprene and polyurethane condoms. From Blossom Pelvic Health, shipped discreetly across Australia. 125ml and 250ml.

It suits you if you want aloe rather than plain water as the base, or if you already choose plant-derived products elsewhere and want your lubricant to match. The aloe gives it slightly more body than a plain water formula without making it thick.

It is probably not the one if you want the shortest possible ingredient list. This has thirteen, including four botanical extracts and a small amount of alcohol. Sliquid H2O has six and no botanicals at all.

If you want more body than this, there are thicker options in the comparison below.

Use as much as you want, on yourself and on the device or your partner. The aloe gives it a little more body than plain water, so start with less than you think. Water-soluble lube absorbs over time, so if it feels dry partway through you can bring it back with a few drops of water rather than reapplying. It rinses off skin and devices with warm water and will not stain. In the shower it washes away faster, so apply out of the direct spray. Keep the cap closed, out of heat and sunlight.

What an aloe based lubricant does differently

Most lubricant starts with water. This one starts with aloe.

Organic aloe barbadensis juice is the first ingredient on the label, ahead of purified water. That is the difference between the Organics range and the plain water-based Naturals range, and it is why this feels a little fuller than a standard water formula without crossing into thick.

Three things that follow from an aloe base.

It is still water-soluble. Aloe replaces water as the carrier, but the formula behaves the same way in practice. It rinses off with warm water, it is safe with silicone, and a few drops of water bring it back if it starts to absorb.

The botanicals come with it. Four organic extracts: flax, hibiscus, green tea and sunflower seed. Sliquid print botanically infused on the bottle, and that is what they mean by it.

The ingredient list is longer. Thirteen rather than six. If a short list matters to you more than the aloe does, Sliquid H2O is the leaner option.

Which Sliquid is right for you?

Seven formulas, three real differences: what it's built on, how thick it is, and whether it's safe with your toys. Every figure here is Sliquid's own published data. Silk and Organics Silk both contain silicone, so neither is one to use with silicone toys. Any of the water-based formulas is.

Sliquid Organics Natural lubricant, your questions answered

Everything you need to know about Sliquid Organics Natural: what an aloe base changes, the full ingredient list, using it with toys and devices, and how it compares to Sliquid H2O.

Sliquid Organics Natural is a personal lubricant built on organic aloe vera juice instead of purified water. Aloe is the first ingredient on the label and water is the second, which is the structural difference between Sliquid's Organics line and its plain water-based Naturals line. Four organic botanical extracts go in on top of that base: flax, hibiscus, green tea and sunflower seed. Sliquid print "botanically infused" on the bottle.

On what "organic" means here, it is worth being precise. Sliquid describe the product as made with organic ingredients and botanically infused with organic extracts. They do not publish a third-party organic certification for it, and we have not seen one, so we describe it as made with organic ingredients rather than certified organic. That is a meaningful distinction in Australia, where "certified organic" carries a specific substantiation burden.

Thirteen ingredients in total. The formula leaves out glycerin, parabens, propylene glycol, DEA, PEG, sulphates, sorbitol and gluten, and it has no fragrance, flavour or artificial colour. It is vegan, cruelty-free and hypoallergenic, and it sits at pH 4.1 to 4.4.

Same safety profile, different base. Sliquid H2O starts with purified water and runs to six ingredients. Organics Natural starts with organic aloe vera juice and runs to thirteen, four of which are organic botanical extracts.

In use most people describe the two as close. Both are water-soluble, both rinse off with warm water, both are safe with silicone and every other device material, and both can be brought back with a few drops of water if they start to absorb. Organics Natural has slightly more body to it, which some people prefer and others do not notice.

The real decision is the ingredient list. If you want the shortest one possible, H2O with six ingredients is the leaner choice and the cheaper one. If you want the aloe base and the botanicals, Organics Natural is what you are after. One caveat worth naming: Organics Natural contains a small amount of alcohol and H2O does not, so if your skin reacts easily that may decide it for you.

Neither is better in the abstract. They are both water-soluble, both safe with latex, polyisoprene and polyurethane condoms, and both safe with silicone, glass, stainless steel, ABS plastic and ceramic. An aloe based lubricant is a water based lubricant in every practical sense. The aloe just replaces water as the carrier.

What the aloe changes is the feel and the ingredient list. Aloe juice carries slightly more body than plain water, so an aloe based formula tends to feel a touch fuller and last marginally longer between top-ups. Aloe is also naturally acidic, which is part of why Sliquid can hold this formula at pH 4.1 to 4.4 without much correction.

What a plain water formula gives you instead is simplicity. Sliquid H2O has six ingredients and no botanicals, which means fewer variables if you have reacted to products in the past and do not yet know which ingredient did it. If you are choosing between them, that is the question worth answering first.

It is built for it. The formula leaves out glycerin, parabens, propylene glycol, sulphates and fragrance, which between them account for most lubricant reactions, and the aloe base is a gentle carrier. Sliquid describe the product as hypoallergenic and it has no flavour or artificial colour.

Two honest caveats. First, the formula contains a small amount of alcohol. That is not a problem for most people, but if your skin is reactive it is the ingredient to know about, and Sliquid H2O leaves it out. Second, there are four botanical extracts in here: flax, hibiscus, green tea and sunflower seed. They are well tolerated on skin generally, but if you have a known plant allergy, read the full list before you buy rather than after.

If you would rather have the shortest possible ingredient list while you work out what suits you, Sliquid H2O has six ingredients and no botanicals at all.

Yes to all three. There is no silicone anywhere in the formula, so it will not affect silicone dilators, pelvic wands, trainers or toys, and it is equally fine with glass, stainless steel, ABS plastic and ceramic.

The practical note for device work is that this is a pourable liquid rather than a thick one. It coats a smooth surface well and spreads easily, and if it starts to absorb partway through you can add a few drops of water rather than stopping to reapply from the bottle. If you find you want something that stays put on the device rather than running down it, there are thicker options in the comparison above.

Afterwards, warm water and a mild unscented cleanser take it off skin and devices. It does not leave a film and it will not stain.

Thirteen ingredients: organic aloe barbadensis decolorized leaf juice (reconstituted), purified water, plant cellulose, organic agar agar, cyamopsis (guar gum), citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, alcohol, organic flax extract, organic hibiscus extract, organic green tea extract and organic sunflower seed extract.

Working through what they do: the aloe juice is the base and the carrier. Plant cellulose, agar agar and guar gum are the thickeners, all plant-derived, and they are what give the formula its body without any synthetic polymer. Citric acid sets the pH. Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are food-grade preservatives. The four botanical extracts are the "botanically infused" part of the label.

What is not in it matters as much. No glycerin, parabens, propylene glycol, DEA, PEG, sulphates, sorbitol or gluten, and no fragrance, flavouring or artificial colour. Vegan and cruelty-free. The one ingredient people miss on a quick read is the alcohol, so it is worth naming plainly.

It usually comes down to consistency rather than performance. If you already read labels on your food, your skincare and your household products, extending that to something you use internally is a straightforward next step, and this is one of the more established options for doing it.

There is a narrower practical answer too. The ingredients that most often cause trouble in a lubricant are glycerin, parabens, propylene glycol, fragrance and sulphates. A well-made conventional lubricant can leave those out just as an organic one can, and Sliquid H2O does exactly that with six ingredients and no organic labelling at all. So "organic" is not what makes a lubricant gentle. What makes it gentle is what has been left out and where the pH sits.

What the organic sourcing does add is assurance about how the plant ingredients were grown. Whether that is worth the longer ingredient list and the higher price is a personal call, and both answers are reasonable.

Yes. Sliquid state that all of their lubricants are compatible with all condoms, which covers latex, polyisoprene and polyurethane. There is no oil and no silicone in this formula, and those are the two things that degrade latex.

The same goes the other way for devices. Because there is no silicone in it, it will not react with silicone toys, dilators or wands, which is the failure mode people run into with silicone and hybrid lubricants. Glass, stainless steel, ABS plastic and ceramic are all fine as well.

One thing to watch that is not about compatibility: if you are using condoms, avoid lubricant on the outside of your fingers before you unroll one, because a slippery grip makes the roll harder to control. Apply to the condom once it is on, or to yourself, rather than beforehand.
