Knee-high SRC Compression Socks for Women are FIRM compression socks in the 20-30mmHg range. They were designed by women for women for use by pregnant mums and professionals like nurses who spend a long time on their feet.
Whether it is the additional weight of your baby or spending many hours on your feet, poor circulation maybe the result. The compression provided to your lower leg / calf by these ‘socks for nurses’ assists your blood vessels to perform their function more effectively, reducing the diameter of the blood vessels in the legs, which improves the vessels’ ability to push the blood back up to the heart so blood flows more freely. As the blood keeps moving, it is harder for it to pool and clot, keeping your legs from swelling, getting tired and hurting.
The SRC Compression socks for nurses and pregnancy are beneficial for minimizing swelling and tiredness, preventing blood pooling and alleviating aches and pains associated with spider veins, varicose veins, travel and sports. Note: Please contact your health care professional if you experience any sudden or severe swelling.
Make sure your foot is completely dry.
Place your hand into the sock pinching the heel pocket and turning the sock inside out creating a toe tunnel.
Place your fingers into the garment and stretch out whilst inserting your foot.
Put on a pair of textured rubber gloves to provide necessary grip to pull on the sock. Check the sock is evenly distributed from the knee through to the ankle, so that there are no creases.
Make sure that the top of the sock band is 2 fingers below the crease of the knee.
Do not fold over the top of the sock.
To remove the sock, grasp the top band and begin to slide it down the leg. Once you get to the heel pocket use the rubber gloves to slide it off the foot.
Make sure to even out your compression socks for pregnancy / compression socks for nurses or any other taxing jobs for your legs, so they are flat against your skin to avoid bunching. Make sure you have the right size and don't fold or roll your compression socks down, because this can make them too tight and cause blood circulation problems.
Pregnancy compression socks can help reduce discomfort in your feet, ankles and legs, and assist your circulation to be more comfortable when you are on your feet for long periods of time.
Just like with the SRC Pregnancy or Recovery compression garments the pressure of your compression socks should be firm but not too tight. You should feel comfortable and supported. They also should not be painful or too difficult to put on. Correct fit is critical for providing effective support to prevent swelling, improve blood circulation and relief from discomfort.
There are different levels of compression available, from light (which is the range used in our shorts and leggings) to firm. Pregnant women and professionals like nurses who spend so much time on their feet can benefit from a medium to firm level of compression of 20-30mmHg which is the level of compression in our socks.
If you don’t have swelling or varicose veins, it maybe beneficial to wear your compression socks if you know you’re going to be spending lots of time on your feet a lot exercising, working or when flying or driving as it’s difficult to move around during these times and the risk of circulation problems increases.
Putting on compression socks for pregnancy at the beginning of the day can prevent swelling and will be more effective than putting them on after swelling is already there later in the day.
Athletes may wear the SRC Compression Socks For Recovery during sleep, as well as during exercise.
Depending on the recommendations of your doctor you may need to wear the SRC compression socks at night after surgery or a specialist procedure where compression socks maybe prescribed for recovery.
Check with your healthcare professional for recommended wear time.
