What is an intimate cream?
Olive & Bee prefer the term "Intimate Cream" instead of "Personal Lubricant" to make buying it more comfortable for you. Plus, it’s versatile—perfect for more than just intercourse!
Many women experience vaginal dryness for different reasons, and Olive & Bee can help improve comfort and overall wellbeing.
What can Olive & Bee be used for?
- Intimate Cream for sensitive vulval and vaginal tissues
- Moisturiser for dry skin
- Massage oil
Olive & Bee is used by people of all ages, but especially post-menopausal women as a vulval and vaginal moisturiser.
How often should I use Olive & Bee?
Many our customers use Olive & Bee daily, with some applying it more than once — like in the morning, at night, after a shower, or before a swim.
Others prefer to use it a few times a week, especially on days when they’re not using other treatments (such as topical hormone treatments). And some simply use it as needed.
Wondering how long a tube lasts? On average, a tube lasts about 3 months, although it can range from 2 to 6 months depending on your routine.
Who uses personal lubricants / lubricating creams?
Personal lubricants are designed to relieve vaginal dryness during intercourse.
Dryness can also be common during other stages:
- whilst breastfeeding
- after menopause
- while undergoing cancer treatments.
What is the the pH of Olive & Bee?
Since Olive & Bee is oil-based, it doesn’t have a pH like water-based lubricants do. This means it won’t interfere with your body’s natural pH or osmolarity, keeping things balanced and comfortable.
Is Olive & Bee compatible with condoms?
Unfortunately, oil-based lubricants like Olive & Bee aren’t compatible with condoms. For condom compatibility, a lubricant needs to be water-based, which also requires preservatives. To keep Olive & Bee 100% natural, we chose to focus on purity, even though that meant it wouldn’t work with condoms.
What is good vaginal health?
The vagina is meant to have an acidic environment. This encourages the development of good bacteria. Olive & Bee does not upset this pH balance. Olive & Bee does not support pathogenic growth, hence helping to prevent irritation. Using an oil also acts as an emollient, which means it seals the skin to keep microbials out and allow healing.
What if I'm allergic to bees?
Usually people with an allergy to bee venom will be Ok with products containing beeswax.
We recommend trying a test patch on your arm first before applying in a more sensitive area.

Claire Osterstock, a physiotherapist in Adelaide, had spent years helping women manage pelvic pain. But there was one thing that always bothered her—the personal lubricants on the market. Time and again, her clients would share frustrating stories of irritation, burning, and discomfort caused by synthetic chemicals in these products. And to make matters worse, most felt uncomfortable even buying them, thanks to the awkward names and flashy packaging.
Determined to find a solution, Claire teamed up with a compounding pharmacist, and together, they set out on a mission to create something better. After 26 different recipes, Olive & Bee was born — a completely natural, intimate cream with just two ingredients: extra virgin olive oil and beeswax. Simple, pure, and effective.
