How Contiform Works and Who It Is For

Contiform is an internal vaginal device designed specifically for stress urinary incontinence.

Stress incontinence happens when physical pressure increases inside your abdomen. This might be during coughing, sneezing, lifting, running or jumping. If the pelvic floor and surrounding support structures cannot counter that pressure quickly enough, urine leakage can occur.

Contiform works by gently supporting the urethra from inside the vagina. This added support helps reduce downward movement during moments of pressure, which can significantly reduce or stop leaks for many women.

It is inserted in a similar way to a tampon and sits comfortably inside the vagina. Once positioned correctly, most women do not feel it during daily activities.

Contiform may be suitable for women who:

• Leak when coughing, laughing or exercising
• Want extra security during sport or high impact movement
• Are waiting for pelvic floor improvement
• Prefer a reusable alternative to pads

It is not designed for urgency incontinence where leakage is associated with a sudden strong urge to urinate.

Contiform Australia FAQs for Stress Urinary Incontinence

Contiform is available in Small, Medium and Large.

Finding the correct size is important for both comfort and effectiveness. Many first time users choose the Starter Pack which contains all three sizes so they can determine the best fit.

In general, if leakage continues, a larger size may provide better support. If it feels uncomfortable or difficult to insert, a smaller size may be more appropriate.

If you are unsure, a pelvic health physiotherapist can help guide sizing based on your symptoms and anatomy.

  • Immediate support during activity

When fitted correctly, Contiform should feel comfortable. Most women do not notice it once it is in place. If discomfort occurs, sizing may need adjustment.

It can be worn during the day and removed for cleaning. Always follow manufacturer instructions and remove daily to wash with warm water and mild soap before reinserting.

Yes. Many women use Contiform specifically for exercise, running, gym sessions or sport where leaks are more likely.
